Sam Martone

“In 1992, my family was living in Syracuse, New York, which I mainly remember as endless winter. I dictated these stories to my mother, who typed them on her typewriter. Presumably, all of them were meant to be illustrated, but I never got around around to it, always onto the next project, a tradition I continue today with my writing. I was (and still am) obsessed with all things that came in collections. Four turtles with different colored masks. Seven dwarves with distinct personalities. What good was a thing if there was only one of it?”
